If the mother has worms she will pass them while she is pregnant and nursing. However, the pups or kits have to be several weeks old before deworming.
Yes to your other question too.

to the first question, that is not true at all and whoever told u that is lying or just doesn’t know what they are talking about. and yes there are diffrent types of worms but usually u can find a treatment that works for the specific type or worms that your cat has. but it is easy for young kittens to get worms and thats why it is always good to get your kittens and puppies dewormed before getting them loving homes. i hope this helped BYE

NO, kittens are not born with worms.
That said there are several types of worms and one type, round worms can be passed through the milk.
It is best to get worming medication through the vet as different worms need different medications. Some vets will let you bring in a sample of feces without bringing in the cat as worms are diagnosed by looking in the feces for eggs.

If the mom was wormed while pg she and the kittens probably won’t have worms. Usually it’s large round worms and you can get the medicine for that at pet stores or Walmart. I hope this helps:)

OMG that is so not true I worked as a vet tech and I absolutely promise you that is not true they are not born with worms but they can get worms very easily if another animal around them has worms. there are maybe a couple different types of worms i really can not remember that but all you have to do is call your local humane society and ask and they can tell you real quick. usually one time a year they do free shots for worms in cats and or kittens so give them a call.

The only way to tell if the kittens have worms is to let the vet check them. There are different types of worms that require different medicines. there are really good all around wormers (Drontal for one) which kill a multitude of worm types. It’s never safe to worm newborn kittens with OTC wormers which are basically useless. Treatment at the vet is inexpensive and actually works. You get the right meds at the right dosage for the cat.
