How To Humanely Euthanize My Cat Cat?
My cat is 19 years old and is suffering from parasites and various other ailments. We have a tried to take it to a vet but the cat is an outside cat and is smart we simply just cant catch it. I have called all the local area vets they wont make house calls for any cost. I have even begged my town vet (I live in a very small town) who i know personally to please come up… she refused. I am very pist off at her and I just dont want the cat to suffer any longer. I have gone to my local pharmacy but they said asprin would cause internal bleeding and sleeping pills cause seizures i dont know what to do and the cats tail is literally falling off and i just dont want it to suffer anymore please hhelp me with this problem i beg of you.
Also I have no gun and please no sick answrers!!!!!!!

If you can’t catch the cat and take it to the vet, I would call animal control and ask their advice. I think it’s very kind of you to want to end the cat’s suffering.

Put out a live trap, and have the Vet do it properly.
There is really no way for you to euthanize it without suffering. Drugs and poisons could mean a slow, and excruciating death… not what you want.
Every small town has at least one hunter. You could approach one of them (perhaps a friend of a friend or one of the local Police) and explain the situation. One good shot is relatively painless.
Your cat friend will appreciate your compassion. I am sorry for your loss, but you are doing the right thing to end its suffering. Blessed be.

Put out a cat carrier with some food and/or treats in it. When It goes in to eat, close the door. Or, get a humane trap. Your local animal control or humane society should be able to let you use one if you give them a call. Please don’t poison it with rat poison as someone suggested. That is just cruel.
Then of course take it in to the vet to be euthanized….I forgot that part…just figured you knew.

If your having trouble catching the cat, then it’s not as decrepit as you thought. Dying animals in pain, don’t run. At the most they crawl. Anyone who’s had a cat knows if they’re gravely ill, they find a secure, comfortable place, to get better, or die. They don’t make you chase them down.

Borrow a cat trap from your humane society/shelter. Put tuna is a bowl in the cage for the kitty. Them cover the cage with a big towel, but not the door area. The will help ease the cat by not seeing wants around it. Trap door is sensitive so practice first before putting it out. That to a better close vet. The trap cage makes it easier to reach to cat without opening it. Its over so fast. Poor kitty. Your a good person for caring. good luck. Keep the blanket over the cage at all times, it will calm the cat. PS you should make an early morning appt. just in case vet is mean.

I’m so sorry, that’s very sad. I would try getting advice from another vet, maybe one that’s out-of-town. I can’t suggest any methods because I’m not a vet and don’t know anything about such a situation.
I would also try calling your local humane society. They are professionally trained to handle such situations.

get a live trap to catch the cat. Then take it to the vet (in the trap) to be humanely euthanized. There is no way to do it humanely at home.

Call the local Animal Control, Humane Society or SPCA. DO NOT try and do it yourself, there’s always a chance all that happens is, as you say, ti just adds another problem, nd that’s a hard thing to live with.

You need to keep trying to get your cat..eventually you will. Sorry to hear that you are going to loose your cat..but I agree the suffering must end..

buy or borrow a humane cage trap and put your cat’s food dish in it so that when it enters to eat the cage closes and then you can take it to the vet.
i’m sorry for your cat and i’m sure this is hard on you too.

if you love your cat, but her in a pet carrier and get her to a vet.
try to put food inside it and see if she goes inside.
she’s lived a long full life and deserves a proper good bye.

If you have a feed and tack store in your area, they usually carry vaccines for cats and dogs…..which means they may also carry the drug to euthanize cats and dogs. I’m sorry, I don’t know what the drug is called.
