My cat is a neutered male, he is about a year old…and we feed him a can of wet cat food in the morning, and some dry cat food later in the evening, and i am not joking nor exaggerating when i say he poops at least 20 times a day, my hubby has not seen any discoloration with his poop, nor any worms…is this normal?

I’ve read that indoor cats have many health benefits when compared to outdoor cats. The latter are more prone to diseases, parasites, fights, traffic and being mistaken for strays. I’ve also read that indoor cats have longer life spans. So, I’ve decided, since I first got my kitty, that she’d stay indoors. I’m only worried and want the best for her. But lately, she’s been sitting by the window just staring at the view outside. She’d sit there for hours. And when she hears the door bell or front/back door opening, she comes running downstairs wanting to go out. Of course, I wouldn’t let her and I’d proceed to shut the door. But she’d just sit there staring at me, crying and asking me to let her out. She seems to love it outside and I really wish I could just let her roam and explore but I’m not sure if it’s a good idea. Any advice on what I should do?

My mother in law is staying with us for the weekend. Her dog is still at her house but it has worms. We have a 7 yr old cat and a 1 yr old kitten. Should I be worried that my cats could get worms indirectly?

My cat has poop in his worms, the short little ones (not sure what kind) anyway he got a shot for it a few months back but they never went away. What all do you have to do to get rid of them besides the medication?

I have two cats. They have small white worms coming out of their butts! What kind of worms are they?
If you think they are roundworms or hookworms, my cats are both inside only cats and they get Revolution once a month. The medicine says that it kills both roundworms and hookworms. I did lapse a little and was about a week late giving them their Revolution this month. Is it possible the Revolution is killing them now?
We also have a dog who does go outside (duh). We haven’t seen any worms coming out of her, but does she probably have them?
Thanks!

Apart from my in-house pets (1 dog and 2 cats) I have three ‘garden ‘ cats, that come and go as they please but mainly stay there because I feed/look after them.
To-day I decided to de-worm them and ground up some drontal tablets which I mixed with their food. They were about two thirds through their meal when a neighbour’s dog jumped over the wall and ate the remainder.
Do you think they got enough medicine or will I have to give the same again?
If I do have to repeat, should I wait a few days until the current dose has cleared their systems?

I’m 5 months pregnant and just found out that my cats have 3 different types of worms (which I have been infected with as well) and I’m still awaiting results on the toxoplasmosis. Oh yes and they have fleas too. They were healthy cats for the 7 years I’ve had them, but all of this junk has come up just since I’ve been pregnant. What luck.
I live alone (husband is overseas) and my mom came to help me clean my one room apartment so that the cats, who are now on medication, don’t re-infect themselves. I haven’t been treated yet, and once the other results come in, I will have to make the decision whether to continue the pregnancy, take dangerous drugs to try and fight the infections, or opt out of treatment and see what happens.
I’m scared to death of my cats now. They live in my bed, on the couch, and one just ran through the dishes I had drying on the counter. And after everything has just been decently decontaminated I’m worried about living here now. I mean- should I get rid of the cats, or see them through treatment and myself through mine? I feel bad because they are such wonderful creatures. Plus, nobody is willing to watch them or adopt them, and all shelters in the area are full. If I got rid of them, I don’t know where they would go. They have never been outdoors a day in their lives, and how they got these things, we have no idea. I’m devastated though. What on earth should I do?
