I have a cat named Xena who is about 6 1/2 months old. I recently found a starving kitten outside my house and nursed him back to health. When we got him I noticed that Xena would stay as far away as possible and I thought it was because she could sense he was sick. I’ve taken him to the vet, de-wormed him, and gotten all his shots, so he is in perfect health. I really want the two to get along so can someone help me?

I left my 4-month old kitten with friends (and their 4 cats) last week while I was out of town. He’s been back in my apt for two days, and now I’m noticing worms in his stool. I thought he was healthy when I dropped him off at my friends – could he have picked up worms from their cats that quickly?
I have to leave town again this weekend. I’ll try to get him treated before I leave, but I assume all the cats will need to be treated? Is it ok to leave him with the same cats again?
Thanks for any advice.

We brought in a stray kitten about 4 weeks ago—the kitten has been to the vet twice for check-ups and shots–just to let you know that we take care of our friends–but now i noticed that our one cat who hung very close to the kitten from day one, his third eyelid seems to be more pronounced at times, meaning that it seems to not recede completely at times. The kitten did have worms and i am wondering if the elder cat got worms from being so touchy-touchy with the kitten.I am planning on taking Billy(older) to the vet if this doesn`t improve..our other 2 cats are fine but Billy played mama..I was just wondering if anyone can give me some info on cat’s third lid.could this be a symptom of worms. i feel that something is not right and i will talk with the vet,but i am curious if there is anyone with knowledge on this to comment.Kitten is fine-Billy is fine but his eye sheath`s seems odd at times. Thanks for any relevant feedback.

I just noticed something the size of a grain of rice on his butt and when i pulled it off with a napkin, it was in fact a little white worm. I have two other cats, but I’ve never dealt with worm problems before. Can i buy something over the counter, or do I have to go to the vet? Can my other cats get them too? Please help.

He’s had diaherra since we got him. Had him tested for parasites and it came back negative. It got worse and turned into yellow mucus…back to the vet and he didn’t run tests be we treated him with an antibiotic, some pill to aid his digestive system, and some special food. He was better right away but about 3/4 through the treatment he is back to diaherra. I can deal with treating him, of course. But he must be the only cat in america that can’t be litter trained. He’ll use it if I put him in there but otherwise he goes in corners, bathtubs, etc. I’ve got aluminum foil all over my house…he just poops on it. He keeps me up all night because he won’t stay in the bathroom without crying all night. In bed, he purrs all night and sleeps on my head, shoulders. Bottom line: he won’t let me sleep at night and I’m cleaning up poop all day. Litter boxes are kept very clean. Unless I can figure something out, he’s going to have to go back to the spca. HELP

My 6 month old kitten has just vomited up phlem and a 2 or 3 inch live white worm which looks like an earth worm. I always thought that worms were something that were found in cats faeces or in the litter tray. Is it possible that cats can vomit up worms?
I intend to take her to the vet tomorrow but would appreciate some advice now as I am very worried and the poor kitten looks so scared and sad!
Thanks

I read that catnip doesn’t affect all cats but two thirds of them. Right now her bed is in a pet carrier in an upstairs toilet with light on – not a very bright light or anything – and the air ventilator is on too (for fresher air) and the catnip cushion is next to the pet carrier.
We took her to the vet today and turns out she has fleas as we thought. Vet gave her a broad spectrum antibiotic injection, anti-worm pill, “Advocat” anti-flea drops, antibiotic cream/gel stuff for her eyes (that we gotta put in her eyes daily for a week) – said she might have a touch of cat flu. €60 in all, that’s about $85. Ireland is expensive for vet care. Also got flea drops for our Yorkie (to be safe) So, that’s the vet stuff done for the moment – didn’t get her any vaccinations, not yet anyway.
Have to buy some anti-flea spray or something (someone said regular anti-ant spray does the trick?) for the house and set to work on that because we certainly don’t want fleas running around the place! Also bought flea/mite/lice treatment stuff for ourselves (put it on the head and leave it for 12 hours before rinsing – lovely, lol) I’m convincing myself they are trying to eat me and crawling around on me…….might (mite!) be……

After seeing an advert on a local pet rehoming forum for a male kitten we went to collect him for our daughter. the lady said he is about 11 weeks old but is tiny, she just put him in our cat box and closed the door, needless to say the house looked less than pleasent.
Anyways we got him home yesterday and noticed he was covered in poo, so gave him a bath, and his stomach is huge, extreemly swollen and he is a bag of bones, thinking he had worms we went and got him both roundworm and tapeworm treatments and have given him both, i have noticed a few worm in his stools after treating him with the tapeworm drops, his tummy is still very swollen tho and he is a very hungry little fella, he also seems to have an extreemly sore and swollen anus and clumps of poo and somtimes diarohea just fall out when he is walking around, other that this he is very lively.
As it is the weekend the vets have been closed so we are taking him to our vets after work tomorrow, but im really worried about him at the moment and was wondering if anybody knew what could be wrong and if this could affect our other cat nemo – who has actually stayed away from the little one as he is scared of him lol
any answers much appreciated
thanks
