My kitten Houdini has worms.
I already made him a vet appointment, but we can’t go until Monday the 20th
But.. is there anything I should do in the meantime?
They look like teeny tiny little strings and are white and are just kind of hanging out in his, um, area.
How do cats get worms? He has been treated for them in the past. He had roundworms. I think he might have these again.
But.. how did he get them?? Could Spanelli have them too? I haven’t seen any on Spanelli, just on Houdini.
Are they dangerous to me or my birds? Should I disinfect my house?!?! WILL MY CATS DIE?

My 6 month old kitten has just vomited up phlem and a 2 or 3 inch live white worm which looks like an earth worm. I always thought that worms were something that were found in cats faeces or in the litter tray. Is it possible that cats can vomit up worms?
I intend to take her to the vet tomorrow but would appreciate some advice now as I am very worried and the poor kitten looks so scared and sad!
Thanks

Our cat has decreased his food intake quite dramatically and lost several pounds since last month. Our 8 years old nutered male cat (adopted as a kitten of the street) has led a very healthy and happy life and has been stable at the chubby weight of 7 kg on average for years. He has had a strong appetite all his life, except for very brief intervals when we moved from one house to another. In the past 5 months, he had to move back and forth a number of times. The only other thing that happened is that in September he had an ouzing wound (like a small puncture but foul smelling), possibly from a cat bite or from a sort of parasite (accoring to the vet’s diagnosis). This was the only infection he had in years and he was treated with antibiotics and seemed to recover fully. In December though he started eating very little and since lost 4 pounds. He looks well with less wait at 5kg (11lbs) now and seems fine overall. Should we be concerned about his sudden appetite change and weight loss?

Parov, I believe, is specific to species – so a dog or ca can transmit to their own species…and it can be fatal. Call your pediatrician to be certain.

Is one treatment really enough? Worms have cycles so how do you know that the eggs are killed too? I got it through the vet so they should know what they are talking about. I was told that if I was worried about this that I could do it again in 2 months. He is an indoor cat so won’t be getting re-infected from eating mice but I swear he must have had worms since I adopted him although I was told that he was treated with a de-wormer. It was just by chance that I saw one in his stool (SCREAM). Also after I gave it to him he threw up although I don’t know how long after, but how do I know it was long enough for the pill to work? His throw up was a mix of his food and peaces of tape worms (OMG). He has thrown up in the past but I have never seen worms in it. Does this mean it was working? Normally I would just call his vet, but it’s the weekend. Can anyone help?
I love my little guy and want him to be healthy!
Thank you!! =)

My cat has been acting really strangely!?!?
my 5 month old cat has been acting very weird these last few days. she has been sleeping most of the day and all night. she is also losing alot of hair. She is not eating or drinking much. I plan to take her to the vet as soon as possible but i just am looking for some advice.
this whole sleeping alot thing is strange for her as she is normally very playful and runs around for hours on end going to sleep normally at abt 11pm.
she also has pale paw pads and slightly pale gums
she has been vaccinated had worm treatment and all those things. would it be okay if i took her in the morning? (its 10 pm)
i just called the emergency vet service and they tell me its not an emergency and tht i should take her in the morning to the vet. shld i trust this?

I just adopted this abandoned cat. And it seems the last owner did not really feed her well or on schedule. She does not look underweight and the shelter told me she has had the first basic vaccine and one worm pill.
(i have had cats before so i know this baby should have had many more vaccines by now and worm treatments…anyway). Normally i would feed a 4 month kitty 50 gr of high nutrition dry food twice a day. But i am not so sure on this one. I just need some advice until i can take her to he vet. Thank you in advance. ps: she is very energetic and begs for food all the time….i really hope this is from being spoilt and not worm-related.

My cat ha started to pull his fur out and i dont know why.
I have booked an appointment at the vets but was wondering if this had happened to any one else.
He has been treated for fleas so it cant be them. I found a couple of ticks on him but ive removed them so there arent any more on him now.
I have another kitten and she doesnt do it which makes me think more that its not any parasites.
Any ideas/ tips would b appreciated.
