My cat came inside and sat down at his water bowl. Got up and there was a worm about 4 inches long and thin as a pencil lead. It looked just like a night crawler and I have never heard of a parasite worm looking like a night crawler.
Could if have been just stuck to him?
Or was it some kind of parasite that I have not seen yet?

My cat is a stray; he grew up eating wild things, before I adopted him and converted him into an indoor cat. Recently, the cat got outside and ate a rat. Seeing as how he probably already has toxoplasmosis from his time as a stray, is it even possible that the cat might have contracted it again? Would it, or would it not, be contaminating his excretions?

Hi,
My cat is 12 years old, just got spayed and currently is showing signs of diarrhea. EVERY morning (sometimes it’s sorta hard) so far she’s been pooping it out .. soo gross .. we just dropped off a stool sample of it to the vet and were wondering what are the symptoms of parasites in cats … thank u in advance!

This girl developed generalized seizures. A CAT scan revealed a single brain lesion consistent with a tumor. Biopsy of the lesion showed a cysticerus. The patient lived in South Carolina and had never traveled outside the state. What parasite caused her disease? How is the disease transmitted? How might it be prevented?
It’s a question for my college-level Introduction to Microbiology Course under the category for “Critical Thinking.” Thanks in advance to any responses.

Parov, I believe, is specific to species – so a dog or ca can transmit to their own species…and it can be fatal. Call your pediatrician to be certain.

last week I was petting my dog and noticed a pimple like bump.. it had a solid thing in the middle of it and you could see a hole in the middle of the bump.. so I started to squeeze it and a thing about the size of a small pill came out.. it was hard and a little shiny and brownish. She had 2 of those in her. Today I examined my cat to make sure she didnt have anything like that but she DID! there were 2.. 1 under her arm and one on her chest. What are these? My grandma said it looked like a worm but it was sortof rounded. How do I prevent them?
Thank you
Amber

Ok, I have a stray cat that hangs around my house because it was skinny and I started feeding it. She is now huge pregnant and so I’ve let her start living in the house so she can have them in here safely. We’re expecting her to give birth in the next week or two but I’ve noticed that she is that nastiest cat ever. She constantly has runny poop (never seen any solid), and she can fill the litter box in one night (the scooped poop from one day I swear weighs as much as she does). I at first attributed the runny poop to the fact she eats my dog’s wet food but it never stopped. I’m wondering if maybe she has a parasite or something? Can she be treated while pregnant? Could this potentially harm the kittens? She’s normal in every other way, she’s alert, playful, and loving. I think she’s pretty young.

my cats poop has long stringy stuff in it, like when cut a slice of bologna and have that thin slice of plastic, it looks just like that.
and before she was walking around and one was sticking out of her butt so i pulled it out. what could this be? it doesnt look like worms i have seen pictures of on the internet, but its long and feels like plastic too, andyou can see through it, it doenst move and isnt alive or anything, just wondering what this is. this cat is also skinny too, but even as a kitten she was always thin, and didnt have this then. at least i dont think she did
thanks
