I have 3 purebred cats. they were given to me and have had constant diarrhea since they came home. They are otherwise active and bright eyed. they don’t seem sick at all.
I have tried changing diet. I think it made things worse.
I have had one litter of kittens from them and all where well and showed no sign of the problem.
Im about to try worming them again. I can only use a spot on as none of them will be closely handled yet, although they are getting used to me and im allowed to hold them now.
Im also going to start putting lactose free yogurt in their night time meal.
they are on a diet of dry food. medium brand. im changing that to home as i think it will be more bland and maybe they will handle it better.
they will go to the vet if it goes on for much longer but im trying to avoid a trip to the vet if i can.
if there are any other suggestions , i would appreciate them.
thanks heaps.

There aren’t any worms in it at all, and she hasn’t had a change in food lately. She has a very healthy diet, I only feed her 100% natural Nutro brand food and treats.

I am seriously having some issues with my cat.(Sorry this will be long) About six months ago my cat just stopped eating and drinking and was losing a ton of weight. We took him to the vet immediately after we noticed he stopped drinking water. The vet ran a whole bunch of tests on him and concluded he had nothing wrong with him. We took him home and he started to eat and drink again. Every now and then won’t eat very much for a few days, and then he’ll snap out of it and start to eat regularly again. His activity level hasn’t changed much through all this, but he wasn’t very active to begin with. His temperament has changed a little. He use to tolerate when our other cats use to try to cuddle or play with him, but now he just hisses and walks away. He hasn’t gained back any of the weight he lost. He’s actually skin and bones. We’ve been feeding him canned kitten food the past two months to get his weight back up, but it isn’t working. Well, in the past few days he started scratching and cleaning himself a ton, and he has stopped using the litter pan and started going in our living room. My mom is worried that he is going into renal failure. When I researched renal failure in cats online I found he didn’t have any of the symptoms, other than he is skinny. We’re taking him to the vet next week, but we’re worried they are going to continue to find nothing wrong. My question is; does anyone have any idea of what is wrong with him? We’ve toyed with virus he can’t seem to get over, parasite, some sort of cancer, depression… we just don’t know. We have two other cats that share water and dry food with him, so we figure if it’s a parasite or virus they would all have a problem. We’re not convinced it’s depression either, because nothing has changed in our house. We can’t figure it out, someone please help. I would be so grateful.

I just got home from work and was greeted with what I at first assumed was a regular good old every day fur ball, with just a hint of vomit to make it special… When I went to clean it up though weird thoughts occurred to me. Did one of my cats eat rubber bands?
When did I purchase rubber bands?
Then…
Why are the rubber bands moving?
So, I have figured out that at least one of my three cats has worms and I don’t know which cat. I am guessing ring worms. I am going to make a journey to the vet Saturday and want to mentally prepare myself. None of my other cats have ever had worms, so I do not know what to expect.
I am guessing that I have to throw out all their litter and bleach the litter boxes. Also, I should bleach the area around their boxes. Right?
Bowls and eating area should be thoroughly bleached too, I am guessing.
But I feel like there is more that I should do. Do I have to steam clean the couch or bed or anything that drastic? Fear of all fears, do I have to give them a bath? Only one out of three would let me get away with that and the other two would be out for blood.
I’d appreciate any advice. My three cats are barely a year old and were rescued. They are siblings.
Oh and I saved a sample of the vomit and two worms in an empty baby food jar. Is it ok to freeze it? I hate the thought of them escaping….

Take it to the vet. If you saw small worms that look kind of like little pieces of rice, those are tapeworm segments. The vet will give your cat Drontol/praziquantel to get rid of them. If you saw some other worms, your cat will get a different dewormer. The ones you buy in stores don’t work well, get the one from your vet.
