No you may not ever see any worms in their poop but cats should be wormed regularly to keep them free of worms, most vets recommend every 3 months. If you go to your vets with your cats age and weight, they will sell you the correct treatment.Cats should be regularly treated with flea prevention too, ask about that also as different vets use different treatments.

I recently found out my kittens had both fleas and roundworms. My vet gave me Revolution, but explained NOTHING to me. It’s been five days now and I am still finding fleas on them…some dead and some alive. And I don’t see any real evidence of the worms, but the only time I saw them at all was when they vomited them up before treatment. How long should I wait before the fleas all die? The worms? Should I have them quarantined from the family? I am really frustrated and ready to put the cats outside. They are not worth having to deal with this forever, or my kids getting bitten by fleas or sick from worms. Can someone please give me some advice? Thank you.

This weekend my animals have tested my patience in new ways.
Chimmy: 6 month old Jack Russell, had seizure and attacked one of my other dogs.
Poke: 6 week old Fox Terrier X Chihuahua I am fostering him until he gets a new home, he was attacked by Chimmy, needed stitches and I have to supply antibiotics to him.
Aiko: 5-6 month old cat. Another rescue I am fostering, has contracted coccidia, some serious worm condition, mouth ulcers, and a general immunity drop. All from the feral colony and we missed it, have to give her daily worming and antibiotics. VERY unpleasant with a feral.
Patches: My own cat who has caught everything Aiko has and is getting the same treatment, oha nd she is refusing to use her litter tray.
Max: 3 month old Jack Russell, healthy but depressed.
Bubbles: My one truly healthy animal, except she got into the dog food and has the runs.
When will it stop?!

Ok, so I use revolution on my cat to kill fleas, worms, etc. I keep my worm composting bin inside because it’s winter and they would freeze outside. The revolution is basically supposed to kill any parasites that live in the house, and I was wondering if this will hurt my worms. They are red wigglers.
ALSO, my cat has cardboard scratching posts and I am always tempted to throw the little cardboard bits into the worm bin, but I’m not sure if that would hurt them with the flea medicine.
Really, it’s the second question I really want an answer for. Does anyone have experience with this?

Hi, everyone. My cat Sabre has had diarrhea problems for a while now and the vet gave me fortiflora probiotic mix to put in her food daily and changed her to w/d dry food and w/d wet to mix in the med. Well almost a week later she started making these pitiful cry meows and her back-end would shiver and twitch and then she would squirt diarrhea on the floor. I took her in to the vet right away and even brought in the stool and they tested and no parasites, but put her on antibiotics and prednisone pills for a week. Everything seemed to be better for her and her stools even started to form! She would still have this twitch thing going on around the base of her tail, but no cry and she seemed ok. When it happend, me and the vet thought it was because of the diarrhea. Well now she is twitching and making that cry again and her diarrhea is back. I have tried giving her the prednisone pill by mixing it in any everything I can think of and she will not eat! She will munch on dry food and is drinking water like crazy. I know I will need to take her back in but has anyone ever had this problem with the backend area twitching and the cat seems to be in pain? Will a prednisone shot be better than trying to get a pill in her? She fights like crazy if I try to use pill popper or hand. Maybe its IBS? Sabre’s coat is fine, eyes and ears are fine, just this darn diarrhea! Anyone who has every had this problem please give me some advice. She will probably need blood work,etc.. I can’t help but think of all the money its going to cost and I got laid off, but she needs help. Thanks so much!!
