i have a siamese cat shes pregnant & i notice a worm in her stool, do i have to wait until she delivers the kittens or can she be deworm while being pregnant? this is the first time i have a cat so im really woried. shes getting spayed after she has the kittens!

Our 3 cats have various problems combined – the main two being deer ticks and worms. Our vet prescribed Revolution for the worms on a monthly basis because they are outdoor cats and often get cases of worms. However, Revolution doesn’t kill deer ticks and being in the Northeast – CT specifically – we definitely need that protection too. Can we apply both Revolution and Frontline each month without killing our cats? Using this much chemical on our cats on a monthly basis worries us greatly.

Some of the parents tell their kids not to touch cats or dogs from the streets because they are wearing dangerous bacterias and parasites but they forget to tell them they are innocent creatures and even the kids are not allowed to touch them, they should not torture them or even scare the animals. Do you educate your kid in this problem? No offens and thanks!

okay, so I’m getting ready for work this morning and my cat who is about 3 or 4 months old starts to gag like he is going to puke, he pukes up this pretty big pile of puke but in the puke there is long white wiggling worms. & two seconds before he puked he was meowing at my boyfriend. So could it have been from his food? Because he was eating the Special Kitty brand, and I just changed it to Purina Kitten chow today because he didn’t like the other stuff. And about a little over a month ago, we had to have a friend of mine watch him for almost a week, and they had 4 other cats there at their house. He seems perfectly normal and happy, my boyfriend said he puked not that long ago, but did didn’t look at the puke.
He has not had any of his shots yet, nor he has not been wormed . So what kind of medicine should I get? Is there anything that isn’t so pricey and works also? I’m 18 and just got my own apartment like 3 weeks ago, and work a minimum wage job, it cost just 70 dollars for the vet appointment, then whatever else they have to prescribe him, which I just can’t afford, and I just want my little baby to get better.

My Kitty TIgre has thrown up for the past two days 4 times.
There’s no hair or worms in the puke. I called the vet, and she said it was normal since I am giving him sulfadimet for this parasite he has. My question is how can I make it better for him, he’s obviously upset, and sad, and it breaks my heart. Is there anything I can do besides pet him?

I went to the shelter today to donate some food, kitten city, wish I could take them all home, I went in a room full of kittens, some of them had worms I was told, they climbed up my pants. I stopped by my moms and changed my pants just in case something can transfer like that, and I washed my hands, but I forgot to remove my shoes before I came in and walked all over my apartment, can you transfer worms like that to your cat?

My cat has had a chronic cough for about 3 weeks now. I took him to the vet last week they prescribe clavorox (I cant spell it). They thought he had parasites. Over the last week his cough got even worse, so back to the vet today we went.
My vet thinks he might have “a very rare case of Valley Fever”. Now I have looked this up online and he has all the symptons, my only question is if you have had a animal that has contracted Valley Fever (most common in dogs) could you please tell me how long the blood test takes to come back as to if your animal has it or not?

it would certainly depend on how old your cat is, if he is a kitten he probably has worms. If he is full grown and has had fleas, he could certainly have tapeworm, if he is underweight and eats more than usual, he could have parasites. I have never heard of scooting on the carpet as a symptom of worms. Your best bet would be to have your vet do a stool check for parasites, some can only be seen microscopically.
