Worming Of My Kitten?
At 8 weeks old I took my kitten to the vet for his first check up, de-fleaing and de-worming. He is now 13 weeks, and last weekend he had his second jabs. I’m just wondering how long the flea treatment and worming treatment the vets administer last, and how often i should de-flea and de-worm my kitten. And before anybody says anything I have him booked in to get neuteured late september.
Also what age do people usually let their cats outside by themselves? Obviously after he’s neutured, but I just want a guidline. I live in a quiet area, and have a huge back garden, no where near any main roads.

I usually wait until they are around 6 months old or younger if I am out there with him.
You might look at my other posting “doe your pet have fleas?” to see how to get rid of fleas that lay eggs in your house then if you use the flea killer that you put between the shoulder blades that should take care of it and you won’t have to pay the vet for flea treatment!
Good work having your pet neutered! I would only do the worming once a year but that is up to you and what you feed him.
Enjoy… your lovie!

Why do you want you kittens to go outside? There is no need for it at all. They are perfectly happy inside. If you loved them you would want to protect them. I have had cats for many years and all have had a long long life. Please do not cheat your cats out of the same chance.

The shots given by the vet for cats last 1 year. You can let you littel guy outside as soon as he is fixed and has had all rounds of kitten shots.
